Through the Greater Miami River Recreational Trail, bikers, walkers, runners and skaters can follow the path of the Great Miami River and Miami and Erie Canal as it meanders through the towns of Tipp City, Troy and Piqua in beautiful Miami County. The trail links parks, historic sites, and the river corridor with communities and provides an excellent venue for exercise, family fun and enjoyment.

Presently, about two thirds of the Greater Miami River Recreation Trail is completed or under contract. At completion, the Greater Miami River Recreation Trail will stretch 22 miles from the Shelby-Miami County line to the Miami-Montgomery County line.  In 2008, the trail will connect to the Five-Rivers Metro Parks system, which means Miami County trail users have direct access to an expansive recreational trail system throughout the greater region.
